I have a large collection of reef fishes from the past thirty years. Virtually all have been preserved and stored in ethanol, therefore the otoliths remain intact (formalin dissolves otoliths) and the tissues are available for DNA studies. The vast majority are small: juveniles or larvae. As of now, most are Caribbean, but my Eastern Pacific and Indo-Pacific collections are growing.
